After a characteristic slow start our boys grew into their first match of the season against a well drilled Hertford team today. An early try for Hertford set the pattern for the first half and three more unanswered tries saw our boys down
26 - 0 at half time, however the scoreline did not reflect the effort and positive attitude of the team. A much stronger performance in the second half was rewarded by some dominant phases of possession, Harley and Joe coming close to charging over from close range on a number of occasions. Finally, a change of strategy paid off and Ellis Ryan was able to find a space to cross the line for our only try, Ben Pedlar converting confidently. Hertford ran over a couple more tries towards the end to make the final score 7-36.
Lots of positives to take from the match and we go again next time. Well done lads!
