BSRFC U16B v Letchworth U16B

A disappointing morning yesterday, we came up against a strong & large Letchworth team in the league and lost, which sometime happens in Rugby!

We started well and was a fairly even contest for the first 10 minutes, we then conceded two tries in the next 10 minutes! However we showed some good fighting spirit and for the last 10 minutes of the half we pinned Letchworth back on their own try line and must have had at least 10 or 12 phases of play only 2 or 3 metres out and felt sure we were going to score, alas they held firm and the half time whistle went, but we were on the front foot!

The 2nd half started and we continued to push until eventually our forwards had 3 or 4 good phases of play and moved us up to their 22m line, before we got fast ball out to the backs and scored a try in the corner, great work from the forwards and well executed by the backs! Was this the turning point?

Answer No! although we had probably 65% of the ball for the rest of the game we failed to capitalize on this and allowed Letchworth to score a break away try, we continued to battle hard, however with a couple of minutes to go conceded again, final score 26-5
