Honourable Draw !

A cold but bright day for a whole U16's squad trip down to Southend-on-Sea, for some fun with our friends at Westcliff. In the end, with a number of last minute absences, we could only field 24, (from our squad of 52), so we opted for x4, 20 minutes games to maximise game-time for all that had travelled, rather than stick to the A's and B's games plan.

A Festivals worth of tries, x15 in all, for the touchline teams to cheer on, with all games being combative but fairly contested and well reffed. Overall with predominantly A's playing from both sides in the first two 1/4's we edged it, largely due to good defence and sharp handling from the ball our forwards won at the break-downs. The latter two games, fair to say went Westcliffs way, although we fought hard, we were smaller and coughed-up too much ball at the rucks and paid for it out wide more often than not.

Well worth the excursion, with an additional benefit of another x3 of our regular B's getting the chance to step-up and acquitted themselves well with our A's early on in the day - Well done to Townsend, Simons and Wilkes.

Training next couple of weekends, then we are scheduled to be hosting / playing Hitchin B's on the 17th Dec'17, (although we fear they may have withdrawn from HML Div 4 recently).
