Bishop's Stortford began this game brightly and had the far greater share of possession and territory, however Biggleswade were well organised and determined in defence. The first score went their way with a rare first half attack.
Stortford finally got the breakthrough their play deserved when Allen broke through to cross the line. At half time Biggleswade held a slender 7-5 lead.
The second period was another story. With barely enough numbers to make a team, Stortford began to tire, especially with Biggleswade able to bring on almost an extra pack when required.
By the time Guglielmucci scored the blues second it was merely a consolation as the Bedfordshire side had full control of the game.
With a full squad, Stortford may well have turned first half territory into more points and could have certainly done with replacements after the break. Biggleswade though, were well worth their victory.
The team deserved much praise for a long hard shift. Short of numbers, with 8 of the team playing out of position they were up against it today but never gave up.
