One that got away !

A game where we were short of a few A's players through injury and school rugby but on another day, could have taken the points.

A game of two halves, where we didn't take enough advantage of our significant territory and possession in the first half, with the wind and the downhill helping hand. We had the vast majority of attacking / scoring opportunities in the first half, with only some unfortunate untimely knock-ons, errors at the rucks, offsides, the odd 50/50 refs call, at times we were a little slower to the breakdown and the last pass going astray. We were made to pay when against the run of play, just before half time Cheshunt sneaked a turnover and benefited from a missed tackle, to go in 5 - 0 up vs our blues at the break.

The second half saw a great fight back from our boys, despite the elements and staunch defence of our line but again while we scored two tries uphill, luck wasn't on our side today and we had a yellow card awarded against us for stamping and with a hint of a forward pass / knock on, we watched Chestnut get over our line twice as well before the game finished.

A close / fun encounter though and we have plenty to work on this week before a friendly vs Westcliff in a couple of weeks, then Ampthill in the 3rd HML Div 1 Fixture at HOME.
