The U10s put in another great performance today at the St Neots As Festival. It was a long day starting at 9am and finishing just after 3pm but the boys kept up the work rate right to the end..
5 pool games saw us winning 4 matches and losing just one by 1-0. This left us on 23 points tied with Newmarket so it went down to the total of fair play points awarded after each game. We were proud to then be told we had therefore won our pool and were in the final against Olney.
Olney put the pressure on but our defence was solid until 2 minutes before the end when they found a gap and scored. Our boys immediately responded and started to dominate the game but despite the increased effort our boys put in the clock ran out much to the relief of the Olney supporters and the sadness of our players such was the passion and commitment they had shown all day.
Talking to the boys afterwards we pointed out that they had defended brilliantly all day only conceding 3 tries, played in the tougher half of the draw and made another final. They had played some great rugby throughout the day, played as a team, showed great sportsmanship and done themselves proud.
It was a great way to end our season as U10s - bring on U11s!
