Bishop's Stortford under 10's festival at Saracens .
It was a day where passion, self belief and that last drop of fighting spirit prevailed; a team that never stopped believing in themselves and never gave up - to the last second of the last game, having drawn one and lost two previous games . This bunch of kids could have shown any team how to fight to the last breath!
The under tens faced Blackheath for the second time in three weeks and having lost the first time round , held them to a nil - nil draw and at times threatened their try line.
Having lost the first and third games to a much heavier side, the game today in the cold rain, favoured a larger side .
Bishop's Stortford took everything to the last game against Brentwood and they knew they had nothing to lose. Dominant rucking by Jake Woodford and Thomas Naylor and all meant breakdowns , rucks and penalties were won , each player celebrated, knowing what it meant. When the first try of the day was won after a great offload by Dylan Curtis to Matthew Lambert running down the wing second and third great tries followed by Jake Roberts and Paddy Akhurst . 3-2 with seconds to go and Brentwood stuffed the ball up their biggest guy again who took a crunching tackle by much smaller Ollie Mears and the Stortford boy's stopped Brentwood just short of the line to finish with a deserved win.
A final game where where every player and supporter had a lump in their throat . Well done to all players including Will Dommett , Max Banks , Oliver Rolfe , Brendon O'Reilly and Seth Hawkins .
