WILDCATS
Great mornings rugby from Bishop Stortford Wildcats where they played four highly competitive matches against strong Hertford teams.
The boys were asked by their coach to concentrate on passing the ball which is exactly what they did. This resulted in some excellent rugby to watch and some fantastic tries involving the whole team. Whilst there are still some areas where they need to improve, such as tackling and looking for supporting players, they were extremely positive throughout, working hard in the ruck with good defensive lines and excellent running and passing play which was great to see.
Whilst there were a number of excellent individually performances this was all about the team today and everyone came off the pitch smiling and having given everything.

LIONS
A tough four matches were in store for the Lions. After a very slow warmup, the first match started quickly and despite a quick try scored by Hertford, the Lions came back with a try in return. A solid defence was marshalled by Oliver Worthy and Matthew Farrar with good support from Edward Clark and Quinn Levy. The second match started with the same enthusiasm and The Lions took an early lead. Great running from Dylan Keyser and Harry Betts opened the Hertford defence and tries were traded on both sides. Stortford's defence was pretty solid with Michael Healey rucking well. By the third match Oliver Engeham was gaining in confidence and provided some key support play. Isabel Free made some fantastic tackles and showed no fear despite the opposition being much bigger in stature. The final match saw the team run in some great tries but ended in an honorable draw which was a good reflection of the effort from both sides.
