Having had to cancel the fixture at home we were grateful that Harpenden invited us to bring 4 teams over to them.
Given the recent downpours and cancelations any chance to play was grasped with both hands as were multiple tags throughout the morning! The coaches have been working on our defence and the improvements were obvious from the start. Our attacking flair had lost nothing either and plenty of tags and tries came flooding in. Harpenden were worthy opponents and made it competitive all round.
The more we played the more we churned up the ground and the layers of mud started building up with every try scored. By the end even our parents had given up hope of getting us in the car without hosing us down first. Our hosts not only laid on a fun morning of rugby and hotdogs but didn't complain at us taking home such a large amount of mud from their pitches.
Thanks to all the players, coaches and parents but especially to Harpenden for being such good hosts - we owe you one but maybe when the ground has dried out!
