There were some outstanding performances across all 3 teams for this fixture. Whilst all 3 teams started off slowly, all losing their first matches, the games were played with great spirit.
The Stags were unfortunate that they lost their way against a very strong Lions Team for their second match, though they came back with a great strength of character to win their third game against the Pumas.
After losing the first match against the Lions, the Bishops came back to win against the Tigers, and drew a tremendous match against the Lions for their last.
The Storts also got over the disappointment of the first match against the Pumas, to grind out a solid draw against the same team. Their final match against a stronger Tigers Team, a great display of courage and refusing to lay down and be beaten, only to disappointingly lose at the end.
There were some great individual performances, but what has impressed the coaches more is the way all the players kept their discipline and accepted all the decisions of the officials, without any argument. The boys played with Respect and Honesty and can hold their heads up high, as we feel that they are learning that the game of Rugby is not about winning and losing, but about knowing that you have played to the best of your ability.
