Former 1st team captain Stu Haslam masterminded proceedings from stand-off and old-campaigner Molley used his pack experience to good effect at nine!
This was a hard-fought game against a younger, fitter side, but Stortford won out with a mix of tenacity and superior skill. Fours captain Kev Stockdale went low to drive over for the first try. Others came from from Stu Haslam and Ben Usher at outside centre.
This correspondent was nursing a wrecked cruciate in the changing room whilst most of the action took place, but I'm told on good authority that the highlight of the game was when Cam Stockdale (playing on the wing!) crashed through three of the opposition back line and came out the other side with one unfortunate back still hanging onto his leg and being dragged down the pitch -- only intervention from some forwards saved the day for Stevenage.
