Bishops Stortford arrived at The Mount in 26 degrees and sunshine and they knew that they had their work cut out!
Right from the off, Stortford were met with a strong opposition and 30 minutes of end to end rugby passed without a point being scored. Stortford knew that the only way to beat the physical team of The Mount was to try and settle into their usual technical game.
Over a brief water-stop, Captain Diddy Byatt inspired the team and instantly reward was to be gained as the skipper went over the try line. This was shortly followed by the Centre (Barnes) with a fantastic breakthrough right down the middle of the pitch.
The second half of the match was dominated by Stortford and tries were touched down by Dummer, Mackenzie and another for the skipper. With conversions and 2 penalties from Read, Lipscombe and Dummer the 3s opened their league with a 31-0 victory over an immensely tough opposition.
