It was 26 degrees and appeared to be getting warmer when the Bishop's Stortford 3rd team arrived in Harlow for an early kick-off.
James Dummer scored an early penatly which gave the team a great confident start. However Harlow were very quick to answer back by levelling the score to 3-3. Bishops Stortford dug deep to withstand the Harlow forwards and as a result of a fantastic break in which most players got a touch on the ball, Stuart Haslam scored a try in the corner.
Ten minutes later of end to end action, the team's new captain Sean Foster also managed to get over the line which put the score to 3-13. Bishops Stortford were starting to edge away, however Harlow were relentless in attack and clawed back a try themselves. Half time score was 8-13 and the team were well aware that a converted try for Harlow could lose them the game. No one knows how in that heat, but Bishops Stortford found another gear. They completely dominated the second half and with another penalty scored by Stuart Haslam, Bishops Stortford triumphed.
A great win for the first game of the season. Well done team!!
