Most readers will remember that this week's home game against Canterbury is the rearranged fixture, which was postponed at the eleventh hour and 58th minute on Jan 21st, when the visitors deemed a pitch considered playable by home players and supporters, as well as match officials to be too dangerous. Since that date their results have been very up and down and mostly against sides below them in the table. This reflects a very varied season for the visitors, who sit only 8th in the league, despite having won seven games in a row from the end of October, including notable victories against Chinnor and away to Redruth, with the run coming to an end only with a very narrow loss away at Old Elthamians. So the visitors can play and their league position is probably misleading. It is to be hoped, therefore that Stortford can reproduce some of the outstanding form shown in a dominant (29-0) second half last week at promotion rivals, Taunton to achieve a win, which will take us clear at the top of the table once again.
