Henley had a poor season last year in National 1, having run away with our league the previous year and so far have not shown great bouncebackability - in contrast to their pre-season expectation of building a squad they were confident would take them straight back up. A number of the 8 or 9 new recruits announced then have not been appearing recently so, whether these are the result of injuries and might be available this week, or have not come to fruition, as hoped in the summer remains to be seen. Stortford will, therefore, need to be on their mettle this Saturday, when, if the forecast is to be believed, conditions will not be conducive to free-flowing rugby.
The form lines from previous encounters between the clubs aren't really helpful, since only 4 Henley players from the fixture here almost 2 years ago have featured in their sides in the last two weeks and even Stortford are likely to have only 11 or 12 the same. Stortford's backs in 2014 included Mike Gallagher, Sam Winter, Marcus Cattell, Arran Mahoney and Jono Child.
