All, firstly apologies to Ryan Wilson who scored a magnificent try at Cheshunt only for the match reporter to mention it to another Ryan. Well done Ryan. Not so good the match reporter.
Last Sunday we faced Harlow and Hitchin at home on a triangular.
Harlow brought both there u10’s and u11’s which amounted to 8 players. Hitchin brought around 20 u11’s.
The original plan was for Hitchin to put a ‘A’ team against our A’ team in a 40 min game while the rest of Hitchin and Harlow would combine to form a Ba Bas team to face our C’s then B’s.
The A’s set off up hill and it was plain to see that Stortford were in control. After the first half (20 min’s) Stortford A’s were surprisingly only one try and on conversion up. They were looking forward to a second half that could have seen a landslide! Score BS 7 – Hitchin 0
As you may have read from Martin Pugh’s report the C’s won there first game so convincingly that the Ba Bas decided not to take on the B’s. Only to lose again on the second game against the C’s.
So all changed at half time, we decided for inclusion of all and the B’s decided to do a 12 man substitution of the A’s and what a fantastic 12 man substitution it turned out to be. They played well as a team with support always ready for the player carrying the ball. Freddy player of the match with 2 trys and some great support play. After their 20 min’s the score, BS 14 – Hitchin 0.
So 4 out of 4 for Stortford.
Out of far play we thought the B’s played so well in our next match on the 31st Oct the B’s will now become the A’ team and the A’s will turn into the B’s. This should please a lot of players and may not please others!
