Bishops Stortford Abbotts 10 V Hitchin 3's 43

So the weekend started with Hitchin not being able to field a 3rd team and there seconds having there game called off, so in true Abbotts form we got Hitchin to bring there 2nds. We had 28 players confirmed so we didn’t care who we was playing.
This week we had a very average 9 and 10 combo in Haslam and paddy dean but they showed in the first 20 mins they still had it just a bit slower than before.
As captain this week due to Chris deciding to drop himself and get pissed we won the toss and elected to receive the kick off and from that started to play some champagne rugby going through the phases until in true Abbotts fashion dropping the ball when the white line fever set in.
Hitchin had a big pack and showed their dominance in scrum time from the off but as the started to tire it become a bit more even ish.
Ill be honest I don’t really remember most of the game so this is where it falls apart. They scored first missed conversion then we played the ball through the hands after good work from forwards for jack Newitt went over the line conversion missed.
I think they scored again before half time.
The subs were rolling on and off and at one point Ben Millard decided to take umbrage with Hitchins 6 for kicking him in the face. But they kissed and made up.
Second half Haslam danced his way over the line and to be honest who cares about the rest of the game because we didn’t score!!!
Great performance considering the team we was playing everyone to a man stepped up to the challenge and great to see so many people involved and even better 80's sing song in the changing room where there was a few who didnt know the word as the wasnt born until 1999.

Was going to be jack until we heard him telling people he was m.o.m even though it wasn’t confirmed so it went to rod tankard for some great last ditch tackles
