The Firsts start the New Year with a demanding trip to Plymouth . At the end of the 250 mile journey waits a tough encounter with third-placed Plymouth Albion.
The Home fixture against this opposition was the first real test for Stortford against established National One opponents and, although, being far from outclassed a couple of late scores produced a 17-36 defeat and some sharp lessons, the benefits of which have showed through as the season has progressed. In the September game, flyhalf, Dan Mugford drew on his considerable senior rugby experience to pull the strings for Plymouth and our forwards will hopefully be able to limit the quality of the possession he gets this time around, as they did so effectively last time out against Old Elthamians.
