2nd win of the season

On Sunday 20th BSRFC ladies welcomed Lordswood Valkyries for the fourth league game of the season.

The BSRFC Ladies started quickly and dominated the play keeping Lordswood Valkyries firmly in their 22 during the first ten minutes with Captain, Georgia Read showing power and speed to give first blood to the home team. No 5 Jemma Goddard converted to give BSRFC Ladies a 7 point lead.

BSRFC continued to dominate in attack with Read scoring again on the 15 minute mark. Goddard converted to increase the lead.

Lordswood Valkyries put up a solid defence executing in some cracking tackles to keep the score line at half-time 14-0.

The visitors struck back quickly at the beginning of the second half taking advantage of BSRFC Ladies

Lordswood Valkyries took advantage of a slow start by BSRFC Ladies to score a quick try at the start of the second half with a conversion to bring the score to 14-7.

BSRFC Ladies rallied and continued to press keeping Lordswood Valkyries firmly in their 22 with No 6 Emily Fellowes-Prynne providing a solid try on the 40 minute mark which Goddard again converted.

With continued attacking pressure, No 8 Carleigh Lalonge led the charge streaking through the oppositions defence for her first try of the game on the 50 minute with a superb conversion by No 2, Bex Hall.

BSRFC Ladies attack was relentless with fancy footwork by No 13 Millie Richey cutting inside off of her left foot to dance under the posts for a try.

A fantastic overlap in the attack gave No 6 Fellowes-Prynne again the opportunity to power her way over the try line. Duly converted by Goddard.

On the 65th minute, a BSRFC scrum 15 metres from the line gave Read a chance to grab and go - straight over the line again for a hat trick.

On the 72 minute mark a further BSRFC Ladies scrum gave the perfect pick and go opportunity for No 2 Hall who duly charged through the opposition to score her first try in Stortford colours which was duly converted by Goddard.

Read capitalised on the balance of play with a fourth try on the 75 minute mark which was converted by Hall to give the BSRFC Ladies a decisive victory with a final score of 55-7.
