Iain’s inspector Gadget’s super extending hand means he can make a touch when 3m away

Great night, lots of energy, super fun, excellent defence and a great laugh in the de-brief (held in the area of the bar you understand).

Martin continues to rack up the tries (in his head at least) I think last night he claimed 3. We welcomed two new players Mac, a Kiwi who has obviously played TOUCH and put on a show of attacking skills, and Nick ‘Baby Face’ Clayton who was kindly let out by his Mum with his pocket money burning a hole in his pocket (sorry Nick).

Also welcome back Tim – who was only up as the Secret Curry Club was supposed to be called together but I forgot so (disappointingly for him) he had to play TOUCH and settle for a packet of peanuts, bought by Adam. His ‘Hitch Step’ was a piece of performance art that sadly was not captured on camera.

Some awesome plays, especially in defence – each week we are improving and last night we saw multiple turnovers as each attack teams tried more and more ‘Hail Mary’ passes trying to break the line. Also sincere thanks to those who volunteered to Ref. we are a tough lot to keep in line but they did a great job.

We will ignore move of the night and ignore my break down the wing where Iain somehow managed to touch the turbulent air in my wake and claimed a touch (I’m not bitter).

After taking nominations yet again I was in the running for Wally of the Night – when as Dummy Half, I strode through a massive gap and made for the line then I screamed (literally) for support but while my scream was meant to be slightly loud came out sounding like a girl, coupled with my odd (and I don’t know why) strides/goosesteps did me no favours. Great touch by Charlie soon ended that move.

But WALLY of the night, by majority vote, goes to Adam, everything he did last night was awesome, his step was awesome, his line was awesome, his break through the defenders was awesome, then when on his own with no one near him all he had to do was touch the ball down, his attempted Chris Ashton splash but actually losing his grip on the ball and throwing it 5m in the air was also awesome, but not in the way he wanted. At least he left with a smile on his face and if I remember correctly bought every drink.

Thanks to Charlie and his box brownie for providing more photos.
