Firstly welcome to the influx of new players last night we were flattered by the comment 'its a lot faster than I thought it would be', I guess 'fast' is a relative term.
Still lots of discussions on tactics and strategy, while our minds may be strong I'm not sure our fitness matches our ambition (just yet).
First 20 mins we played really well, defence was very organised on both sides with minimal scores. After this the game opened up a bit.
Bibs never quite gelled as a team remaining split on both sides of the pitch. Shirts (thank god it was not skins) defence was good and they managed to move the ball around the pitch and opened up holes in the defence.
Wally of the night goes to me: When Julian hurt his calf and was lying on the ground I said ' that looks bad its swollen already' although it was the wrong leg.....
Two outstanding moves of the night:
First by Nick Sloan (welcome back after a few weeks away). Nick made a run right down the centre of the pitch and he had nowhere to go with the defence organised and standing strong. Moving at an incredible speed (just above walking pace) and for reasons only known to himself and under no pressure, he managed to spill ball from his own hands, the defence stood back waiting for the turnover but incredibly Nick recovered the ball and ran right through to score. He claims it was a well thought out move.
Uber move of the night goes to me too (well I am writing this) in receiving a terrible pass from Adam I managed to just get my hand to it, juggle it, flick it forward, run on to it, stumble while doing so and still score. I took the reaction of silence from all the players on the pitch as a stunned silence in the presence of a master.
