It is with regret we must inform you of the death of David on 4th April.

David had been in hospital for a few days with fluid in his lungs.

He was a regular in the first XV at Centre in the seventies, having been awarded in 1976 as the captain’s player of the season. The Centenary book describes one of his tries against Villiers Sur Marne where the winning try in a game we won 8-7. The win was sneaked in the last few minutes with a dazzling, sidestepping individual try.

David continued to be a regular visitor to home games and games in South London nearer to his home in Brighton. He was also a VAT expert and helped our Treasurer regularly with the complex issues the club faced with VAT. His expertise was given freely and helped the club navigate through many complex issues; He will be sorely missed.

Details of the funeral will be available when the event is organised, later this month.
