We have with the help of sponsors, Steel Build Masters and Forefront Signs Limited installed a bespoke manufactured digital clock on the outside of the clubhouse to countdown the time until our Centenary season starts in September.
The 2.5m long clock is housed within a frame designed to resemble Rugby goal posts and set to countdown to 3pm on Saturday 4th September which is when the first game of the new season will kick off.
Plans to celebrate & commemorate the clubs centenary have been badly disrupted by the pandemic but hopefully the recovery will continue apace thus allowing the 2021/22 rugby season to proceed under normal playing conditions.
The hope is that the clock will act as a continual reminder to members and other visitors to the site that this momentous milestone in the clubs history is now almost upon us.
It is our intention to use the occasion of their centenary to launch an appeal to fund a substantial development to the existing clubhouse to increase and improve the current substandard changing facilities.
Perry Oliver. Club Director and Centenary coordinator said “it is of course important that we properly celebrate our 100th Birthday and commemorate everyone who has helped build the club over time. But it’s equally important to have plans that will carry the club forward for a substantial period of the next 100 years and our changing room project will allow us to do just that.
The clock will act as a constant reminder to all, of the challenge that lies ahead of us to raise the funds for this vitally important project and we are incredibly grateful to Max & Dan of Steel Build Masters for their support, without which we would never have been able to bring the idea of a countdown clock into reality”
Max King. Director of Steel Build Masters said “We are absolutely delighted to come on board as a new sponsor for BSRFC in this special centenary year. We look forward to doing what we can to help this fantastic local institution shine in 2021 and beyond.”
